More Blocks

These blocks are two of my favourites.  They were so much fun to do. I am making good progress and aiming to finish the quilt by the end of September.    I have set up a  new page on this blog so you can view all the blocks.  I am only putting two blocks per postings/picture to encourage myself to blog more often than I have been of late.
See you again soon.

A Gift

Front of the Bag.
Look at what I was given today.  This is one of two gifts I received but I am going to tease you by only showing you one of my wonderful gifts.  When you visit me again I may show you the other gift.  Both gifts are from the same quilter and are beautiful.

Slowly Slowly

I thought I would show some of the blocks that I have been stitching for my new Christmas Quilt. I think there are about one hundred stitchers involved with this Stitch-A-Long.  I need to go into the city to buy some for thread as I would prefer to have too many skeins that not have enough to finish the blocks. I am surprise at how much I am using for these little blocks.
So I am off now to fight with the road works and holiday traffic just so I can get some more thread.

Stitch-A-Long

I am taking part in the Stitch-A-Long. We are stitching red work Christmas blocks, using the 'Tis the Season' book by Natalie Bird.  I am a little behind as I had to order the book from New Zealand.  I tried to get the book from a UK quilt shop but the book had sold out in all the shops.

The next problem for me was which fabrics to use to complete the blocks.  It took me several days to audition my fabrics.  As I had not washed the fabrics, I then had to wash and press the fabrics.

The third problem was finding the right red thread.  Chookyblue and the other stitchers had several suggestions in the choice of colour.  I had to travel to several shops until I find one that sold what I want to use in this project.

The fourth problem was finding time to sit and stitch the blocks.  Life has thrown several curved balls my way and I found myself dealing with those problems.  Mr Daisychain thought it would be a good idea to get away for the week to relax.  We are now in Bembridge,  enjoying the sunshine and slowly catching up with my blocks.  I cannot upload pictures at the moment as the wifi is a little slow.  I will upload pictures next week when I get home to all the postings from Bembridge.

Getting ready for Christmas!!!

I know that you will think I am crazy as it is still only May.  I was asked by another member of the LQG to provide Christmas projects now as it gives members a chance to complete projects before the mayhem of the season begins!!
So we are starting with a simple project.  Six members have already started!!  I am off now to get next month's project finished!!
