This project was started as a Plym Piecemakers Christmas challenge many years ago. We were given two small pieces of Christmas fabrics and instructed to make an item.
I hand applique a snowman on a central square and bordered the block with the fabrics.
It is that time of year again. I have started making more small Christmas stockings.
Well I started cutting out the parts in January. I do a mass cut of all the parts and then store them in boxes until I am ready to stitch. Five stockings finished.
I have been experimenting with a new tea cosy pattern. It was quick and very easy to make. I think I will alter the pattern when I make the next one, as I feel it is slightly too tall.
This tea cosy is for sell. Please email if you want more details.
I started this small bag several years ago whilst attending the Dartmoor Arts and Crafts Show. At the end of the show I bagged the fabric plus the project and placed it in my UFO box. It took me just over an hour to finsh this bag.
I have a stall at the Arts and Crafts Fayre in Princetown school on Dartmoor.
The show details are:
10am to 5pm
Entrance free
Thursday 7th to Saturday 16th August
Whilst I am here I bring in projects to sew as we get some quiet moments. I had finished ten travel tissue covers. I will sell these covers on my stall.
Another French Fancy Sewing Roll completed earlier this month.
I love making these sewing rolls.
I always have several of this project part made at several different stages. They are so easy to make and to adapt to suit other requirements like a painting/writng rolls.
At the beginning of the year at the Quay Quilter's AGM, our president April set the members a challenge. A small 15 inch wall hanging with the theme of 'STARS'. The plan was to hang all the stars quiltlets at our exhibition. We were all given the black background fabric and the instructions on how to finish our quiltlet.
As a last minute girl and our exhibition is only a few days away, I kept my stars very simple. Machine quilted using Rayon threads. Members were encouraged to interpret the theme anyway they wished.
I will post a picture of all the stars hanging together later in the week.
I finished two pin cushions today. I have lots of projects on the go at the moment but sadly I have only managed to finished the two pin cushions this month.
I spent the day at the Fabric and Paper craft fayre today, you may know it as 'Just Tracys'. My stall was overflowing with all the items that I have made recently. I met and chatted with some wonderful people.
I have made some Easter Bags, in fact I have made seven so far. These small bags take a fat quarter of fabric to make, yes a whole fat quarter!!
I forgot to show you my pin cushions that I have made for the craft fayre. Four round pin cushions plus a tiny round cushion and one large pin cushion.
Craft Fayre season is about to begin again in the next few days. I will be at Just Tracy's craft fayre on the 12th April 2014 10 am - 3 pm.
I have been making small items that are quickest to make as my shoulder injury is still on going. I am only spending ten minutes at a time cutting, pinning or sewing to avoid causing my shoulder further injury or pain. I am still sewing, laughing and breathing!
I hope to see you all at Just Tracy's craft fayre.
